UNC Basketball- Maryland Postgame Interviews, Highlights, and Box Score

UNC took down Maryland to make it 4 in a row for the first time this season and in the ACC. That takes us to 5-4 in the ACC and also brings us to the half way mark in ACC play. The second half of our ACC schedule is much tougher, but for now lets focus on the Maryland victory.

It is also the last one against Maryland with them as a part of the ACC unless we see them in the ACC tournament. This is our 8th straight win over Maryland as well, so another team that Roy has owned lately.

Below is the Roy Williams postgame press conference, an interview with Brice Johnson, and the highlights video. Plus here is the full Box Score. On to Notre Dame Saturday at 12 pm est.

Enjoy and pass along!

9/5/13 #ACChat Thursday twitter chat

Ok, we are going to try this again, we are sticking with 3 pm eastern time zone (I may be a little late due to a Dr. appt.) on Thursday the 5th (tomorrow).
Here are the questions if you want to think about it or prepare your answers.  All you need to do is join us on twitter Thursday at 3 and when the question goes out post your answer and add the hashtag #ACChat so we can find everyone participating and easily find all the answers.

Also, I created a twubs page for the hashtag #ACChat!  If you have never used twubs, check it out at twubs.com/ACChat.  It makes twitter chats so easy to follow and participate in.

Please spread the word to any and all ACC fans you know and may want to participate.  It will only become more fun with the more people we get to join in.  It would be awesome to get a few non-Tar Heel fans involved with us.

Hopefully this way we can connect with more ACC fans in a friendly way.  Please spread the word as the more we have participating the better the whole thing will be (even to the dook fans).

Questions:

1. Favorite moment from week 1 of college football?

2. Game you are most looking forward to in week 2?

3. ACC Championship game prediction?

4. BCS Championship game prediction?

5. Are you anymore into TV shows or big games because of social media (people talking about it on twitter/G+)?

6. Do you ever watch something you maybe wouldn't have otherwise just because it's blowing up your TL on twitter?

Hope to see everyone joining in on Thursday at 3, remember to use the hashtag #ACChat (just 2 C's) and tell one person about it and try to get them to join in as well.  The bigger this gets the more fun it will be.  Spread the word!

If there are any questions just contact me.
Twitter: @AllTarHeelDan

Also, feel free to connect with me either or both places and let me know this is where you found me.

See you all Thursday at 3 on Twitter!

1st ever #ACChat Thursdays! 8/15/13

If you don't know what #ACChat Thursdays are, go back a couple blog posts to read all about it or contact and ask me.

Pretty much the goal is to get a bunch of ACC fans together to chat and answer questions every week on twitter and then meet new ACC fans as well!

So here are the questions for the first week 8/15/13 so you can think about it or prepare answers if you want/need:

1A.  Introduce yourself. (Name, residence, job/grade, anything else you want)

1B.  Who is your college team, football and basketball?

2.  How long have you been a fan of your team?

3.  What/who led you to be a fan of them?

4.  1st definitive memory of your team?

5.  Greatest ACC memory (for you)?

6.  How close do you live to your team?

7.  Number of games attended in person? (basketball and football)

When answering questions please use the hashtag #ACChat so we can all follow along with the chat and easily find everyone's tweets!

Hopefully you are reading all of this so you see this part, it will be occuring at 5 pm eastern time!

Only 2 days left!

ACC Twitter Chat?!

Okay, so without much feedback, input, or interest shown for the Tar Heel Chat I am going to try and broaden it out a little.

I would love to hear back if you are at all interested in participating in a weekly (or at least when you can make it) chat about ACC related news, questions, and discussions on Twitter.

I will come up with 5 or so questions each week and let you a day or so ahead of time so you can think about them if you get a chance and then at the allotted time we can all tweet out our answers.  It can start other discussions on twitter and also help us find others with similar interests to follow and get to know a little better.

Again, please let me know if your interested and also leave feedback as to when you would want it to happen each week.  I am thinking Thursdays at 3 pm eastern, but open to other suggestions.

Also, trying to think of a good hashtag so we can follow the chat more easily.  Thinking #ACChat or #ChatACC. What do you think? Got anything better?

Looking forward to any and all feedback and input you have and share and spread the word to make it bigger, the more we have participate the better the discussion!

ACC Men's Basketball Champions and Runners-up since 1980

I have compiled a list of all the Championships and runner-up that the ACC has won in men's basketball since 1980.

Since we are in a couple of transition years I have kept Maryland in and Louisville out for now, however I did add Louisville's stats at the bottom, which only helps the ACC look better!

Is there really any conference even close to this in basketball?

Is the ACC the SEC of basketball? (Without the string of 7 straight which would be much harder to do in bball)

                                       Championships            Runner-up

        Duke:                        91,92,01,10              86,90,94,99

        Georgia Tech:                                                    04

        Maryland:                         02

        North Carolina:          82,93,05,09                     81

        North Carolina State:        83

        Syracuse:                          03                           87,96

        Total:                               11                              8

        Louisville:                        80,13

To me that is crazy to have 11 championships and 8 runner-ups in 23 years and it will go up to 12 championships to our credit when Louisville takes Maryland's spot!

All-Time ACC team (of my era)

Ok, first a few ground rules, I only used the time period in which I really remember watching players live, no tapes or recordings.

Obviously I have a slight UNC bias, but I did try to be somewhat unbias. However, you will probably see it come out for UNC and against dook some.

Lastly, I did take only college careers into account and longevity did come into play as well, which did leave some really good players off.

Also, I know there are a ton more really great players not on this list, so let me know yours! Leave them in the comments below, tweet them @AllTarHeelDan or @UNCHoopsTalk, on G+ AllTar Heels, or email me @ UNCHoopsTalk@gmail.com and let me have it!

Ok so with no further ado here it is:

My All-Time ACC team: (in no order and position taking only slight consideration)

Tyler Hansbourgh (UNC)

Tim Duncan (Wake Forest)

Antawn Jamison (UNC)

Chris Paul (Wake Forest)

Jason Williams (Duke)

Honorable Mentions: (also in no order)

 Grant Hill (Duke)

Vince Carter (UNC)

Juan Dixon (Maryland)

Joe Forte/Sean May (UNC)

Shane Battier (Duke)

Hope you agree with some atleast and for those you disagree with, give it to me! (politely)

Go Heels!
