Margaret LaPlante (@maggs219)- I think we should win 27. Post season- Heels beat Dook in ACC tourney & Heels go to championship game and beat Baylor.  Go big or go home I guess

William Clark (@williambclark3)- Carolina is going 27-4 during the regular season. I expect an ACC title (both regular and tournament) and Natty Champs!!

Shaked (@letsgosportsguy)- Hi I will give you two prediction this time around worse case UNC win 22 games finish 3rd place in the ACC only make it to the Elite 8. The more likely thing that I believe will happen is for UNC to go 27-4 winning the ACC regular season title. Not making it to the ACC championship game since it's the UNC way😂 winning the national championship 81-74 over Gonzaga.

Bills mafia (@bills0327)- 25-6, win acc tourney , lose in final four

Mark Crisp (@markyd0522)- 26-5 regular season record. I think we will get to the championship game of the ACC tournament and lose it to a team who’s probably getting hot at the end of the season. But I do think we will cut down the nets and win the national championship. I’m thinking our overall record may be 34-6. Give or take a couple games.

Michael Quick (@bigpunisher78)- 27-4 in The regular season 17-3 in The ACC win The ACC Regular season Championship 10-1 in the Non-conference 2-1 in the ACC tournament and 6-0 in The NCAA Tournament and cut the Nets down in Houston

Lorri Blair Mercer (@CarolinaChic23)- We lose 7 games this season, finish 2nd in the ACC tourney (which will crush me) but we win the Natty

@mcpetersj13- Season prediction-Not trying to be the pessimist for this hoops season but I expect some tough games. I think the offenses will be stagnant against physical teams early in the year. Strong year-I am expecting 5-6 losses with a team that gets stronger late in the year. Idk about what to expect the the NCAA bit the team should complete for the ACC. Davis and Love are still the key. Can Davis run an offense and move the ball or is he always going to be a dribble/probe guy? Can Love consistently make good decisions? Do they both stay engaged defensively. Cautiously optimistic for a the team to make a tournament run again.

No idea hopefully all the way, but I will say elite 8.

Josh G (Rowdy)- This years team imo is better than last years. A lot more depth and I think Pete Nance is an amazing replacement for Brady Manek. This season will be a hard one for our players with all the expectations but I think they live up to them. I think we go 25-6 in the regular season and win the ACC regular season championship, and I think this team gets to at least the elite 8 with a very good shot to go all the way and avenge the loss from last season.

We got the predictions podcast here for you, thank you to everyone who sent in their prediction! It's not too late to send yours in, send it to me through twitter, IG, email, anywhere and I'll add it to this list so we can go back after the season and see who was right and where we were off.

2021-22 Predictions 

Mine- 9-2 in non-conf. 17-3 or 16-4 in ACC (top 3) win ACC tourney (3 wins) lose in Elite 8 (3-1) overall 31-7 or 32-6

-Mark Crisp (markyd0522)- I’m going to say 24-7 regular season record. As far as the ACC tournament goes I think we get to the championship game. I predict we go to the elite eight in the NCAA tournament. Hopefully we are a better shooting team this year and a solid defensive team.

-Joe Thompson (@DESisthecoach)- First time in a long time I have no idea what to expect.   Adds some anticipation.   I'll say 22-9 regular season.   3rd or 4th in ACC.  2 wins in ACC Tournament.   3 seed in big tourney with a  Sweet 16 run.

-Michael May (@MikeMay23)- Dang Joe beat me to it. Was literally gonna day 22-9 regular season and a trip to sweet 16

-Steve Wolf Sr. (@stevewolf44)- 23-8. elite 8.

-Michael Quick (@bigpunisher78)- 16-4 in the ACC 25- 6 overall ACC Regular season Champs and Final Four birth

-Tre Stennett (@triggaa_tre)- 25-6 regular season, 2nd ACC,Semi Final ACC Tourney, Elite 8

-Chan (@chancollins40)- I say they will go 25-6 in the regular season, And then will place 3rd in the ACC tourney, And be eliminated in the sweet 16 in the NCAA tourney

-William Clark (@williambclark3)- I expect a healthy Carolina to win at least 23 games.  Winning the ACC may be a little tough but I believe they can! They have the ability to at least make it to the Sweet 16.

-George (@britishtarheel)- We’re going to reach the Sweet Sixteen! Win the ACC! 

Finally, shoot more three pointers than the last two seasons combined 

-Mark Krings (@krings_23)- I’ve got our Heels going 9-2 non conference and 14-6 in conference. The will reach the semis in the conference tourney and get to the elite 8.

-Sarah (@unccat)- 22-9.  Hopeful for a run to Elite 8

-Andrew Braun (@drufitAT)- 24-7 overall, 14-6 ACC, tourney knocked out in elite 8, I think they lose the ACC champ game

-Alane Floyd (@alanefloyd)- Regular season record : 22-8. I  think we will loose in the quarter finals of the ACC tournament and then make a Sweet 16 NCAA tourney run. My UNC Duke predictions is : 2-1, but we loose at Cameron

-Gil (@yogigil)- Regular Season record 23-8, top 3 ACC finish, ACC Tournament champs and Final Four in Hubert's first season - Let's Go!!!

-@dtgoulet- 25-6 final 4. I feel it in my bones.

-Blake- a top-3 finish in the ACC, should go into the tournament as at least a 5-seed. Sweet 16, maybe Elite 8 if they get good seeding or have a strong postseason run. 

IG: 

TarHeel4l.wire- My prediction for this coming season is 24-7 or 25-6 with us winning the ACC Championship and making it at least to the Elite 8 though I genuinely feel we could have a shot at the Natty with all the pieces we have on the roster. As long as everything comes together and all the players are locked in the sky is the limit.

Discord: 

(Josh G) Rowdy- So I’m gonna go with a 24-7 record for this season. My prediction is based on the freshman class from last season taking a big step up (Love in particular) and leading us to a good tournament run.

Think we have 3 really hard non conference games (Purdue, UCLA, and Michigan) other than those I think we do good in that part of the schedule. 

Conference play is pretty hard to predict, think the ACC is gonna be better this year than last year so think we might lose 4-6 conference games and I think that the ACC tournament is definitely winnable if we can get a double bye which I think we will. 

I think if this team can learn to play with each other and adapt to any changes in the system, I think we are plenty talented enough to be playing in the final couple games of the year. Right now I’m gonna go with elite 8 but wouldn’t surprise me to see them go al the way.

UNC Basketball: 2019-20 Season Predictions Podcast!

The annual predictions podcast is here! Thank you to everyone who sent in their predictions, that's what makes this podcast so fun to do every year and of course makes it possible for us to look back at who was close to right after the season.

Of course, we all want to pick the Tar Heels to win it all every year and I don't think this is going to stop any of us from cheering for that. That being said, here are the predictions I got sent in to me this year:

Mine- 25-6 regular season, top 2 of ACC, 2-1 in ACC tourney, 3-1 in NCAA tournament (leaning towards final four) 

Overall- 30-8

-Jared Varner @jvarner_wv- 24-5 regular season 2nd in ACC win ACC tournament get 1 seed in March make to final four

-@thomascrown97- 14-6conference, 23-8 overall. ACC tournament probably semi final. NCAA i really don’t think we know enough about this team to make an educated guess, but based off of the nature of the tournament I’ll say at least a sweet 16.

-Chandler Collins @chancollins40- 22-9, sweet 16, split with duke in reg season and beat them in acc tourney 

-Shaked Bar-Tal @sportguyshow- 25-6, 1st in acc, final four and cutting down the net!

-Alex Gilmore @a_gilmore88- 29-7 (16-4), lose in semis of ACCT after getting double bye and lose in Elite 8

-Jeff G. @steelheel40- 25-6 regular season!!

-Alane Brewer Floyd @alanefloyd- My predictions: 31 regular season games:  open with a loss to ND and then overall record of 23-8. I think we make ACC tourney finals but lose. NCAA tourney:  we make the Final Four but lose there.

-John B @n2unc- 27-9 Majority of the losses before Jan. Sweet 16

-Alex German @_german53_- so I think CBB this year is gonna be Kansas and Michigan State then everyone else, so strong chance Carolina can make a final 4 run. I don’t think Cole is going to disappoint and I think Leaky is going to have a breakout year. and maybe some bias bc he’s my favorite one on the team, but I think Platek is going to play a huge role on both sides of the ball (27-4)

-@HeelsReport- Here is my prediction for the 2019/20 UNC Basketball season. 

I believe UNC starts the season out with a conference win vs Notre Dame. I believe UNC will go 10-1 in Non-Conference play with a loss in the championship game vs Gonzaga in the Battle 4 Atlantis. I do believe UNC gets Gonzaga back on December 18th with a road win in Spokane. I 100% my next prediction because I believe this team has the potential to do this. I believe UNC goes 19-1 in the ACC. Yes, 19-1. And it’s not going to be against a tough team like Duke, Virginia, or Louisville. I believe we will have a road loss against Florida State on February 3rd. I believe UNC loses in the ACC Championship to Duke, but then we will go on to win the National Championship in Atlanta vs Michigan State. Cole Anthony wins National Player Of The Year and Final Four MOP
