UNC BASKETBALL: Season Wrap-up (Revisiting Pre-season Predictions)!

UNC Hoops Talk Podcast #118

I am back Tar Heel Nation to wrap-up this spectacular season! In this podcast as we transition into the off-season and podcasting once a month I give my final (probably not though) thoughts on the Championship run and what it means for Roy Williams. Also, we look at who is leaving early and who will come back, recruits we are still after for next season, and finally I finish off by looking back at my preseason predictions as well as all them that you guys submitted back in October! Who was spot on and predicted it all?

Thanks for a great season and joining me in covering it here on the podcast! Also, thanks for all the great support you continue to give me and the podcast!

Until Next Month, Go Heels!

National Championship Recap- Heartbreak City!

UNC Hoops Talk Podcast #87

Well, I am trying to move past the game and through the mourning process, I am able to go back out in public so thats good. Ok, maybe it's not that bad, but it certainly feels like it sometimes.

You know already our Tar Heels lost in the most devastating way, but I am going to try to go back through it and see why. Was our defense not up to the task? Was their defense too tough? Did we not make enough shots, they just hit some tough ones or did the zebras come into play as well?

This is one that will never be forgotten and unfortunately we are on the wrong end of it.  We will have to see that shot replayed every year at tournament time, championship time and even more often. Who is starting the support group for us?

Hopefully, I make it through this episode and we all need to try to make it through this offseason. Next time I will talk more about who could leave or test the waters, anything new on the investigation "stuff", and the schedule for the podcast.

I hope you enjoy or get enough out of it that you will subscribe and share with your Tar Heel friends & family! As always, Go Heels!

College Basketball/Final Four Wrap-up

UNC Hoops Talk Podcast #60

What a sad day as Tar Heel fans and college basketball fans. Not only has college basketball come to the end of another year, that little school down the road fell into another championship.

I will close out the overall college basketball season by discussing the Final Four games and of course the championship game (as quickly as I can).

Then we will look ahead to the off-season and what is to come for the podcast.

Thanks for listening/watching and I hope you enjoy enough to share and tell your friends and family!

Enjoy and Share!

UNC Hoops Talk Podcast- ep. #31

After a week away UNC Hoops Talk Podcast is back to put a close on the 2013-14 season.

However, before we get to that, I announce a new little segment/show that I would like to try and pull-off for the off-season and see where it goes.

I briefly hit on the Final Four and Championship games. (check out the Vegas trip for the reaction from people with money on the line to UConn winning- Vegas Trip! and subscribe!)

Then the meat and potatoes is closing out this season for the Tar Heels (Providence and Iowa State games, season record), quickly looking into the off-season and next year.

UNC Basketball- Providence Postgame Interviews, Highlights, and Box Score

Win and Advance!

That is the motto for this time of the year and the Heels did just that, barely.

It was a tough, tight fight with Providence and think it's fair to say we are a little lucky to be moving on.

Before we take a look at Iowa St., the opponent for the next round, here is the postgame press conference with Roy Williams, James Michael McAdoo, Marcus Paige, and Brice Johnson. The second video is interviews with Marcus Paige and JP Tokoto in the locker room. As usual, I include the highlight video of the game, then a video of the locker room celebration and a surprise visit from David Robinson, as well as here is the Box Score.

Win or Go Home!

That time of the year is here and oh how exciting it is. After seeing the upsets we have on the real first day of games, it also makes you quite nervous for what might be coming on day 2.

Before the Tar Heels take on Providence watch and listen to what Roy Williams, James Michael McAdoo, and Marcus Paige have to say about the tourney and taking on the Friars.

Also included is a video of the first 24 hours of March Madness with the UNC Basketball team. Stay tuned for the open practice dunks at the end!

ACC Men's Basketball Champions and Runners-up since 1980

I have compiled a list of all the Championships and runner-up that the ACC has won in men's basketball since 1980.

Since we are in a couple of transition years I have kept Maryland in and Louisville out for now, however I did add Louisville's stats at the bottom, which only helps the ACC look better!

Is there really any conference even close to this in basketball?

Is the ACC the SEC of basketball? (Without the string of 7 straight which would be much harder to do in bball)

                                       Championships            Runner-up

        Duke:                        91,92,01,10              86,90,94,99

        Georgia Tech:                                                    04

        Maryland:                         02

        North Carolina:          82,93,05,09                     81

        North Carolina State:        83

        Syracuse:                          03                           87,96

        Total:                               11                              8

        Louisville:                        80,13

To me that is crazy to have 11 championships and 8 runner-ups in 23 years and it will go up to 12 championships to our credit when Louisville takes Maryland's spot!
